Mission of Cataract Free America®

Make America Cataract Free

Cataract Free America® helps American seniors be free of vision limitations caused by cataracts, including those seniors who have delayed care due to restrictive $3,000 to $600 out-of-pocket expense of required care, by facilitating referral to healthcare professionals who will provide cataract surgery for free or with no expense to the senior.

Public Served

American seniors who have delayed needed cataract care due to restrictive $3,000 to $600 out-of-pocket expense of required care.

Educate the Public About Cataracts

Inform the public about cataract related issues through its informative website and provide researched answers to seniors' questions.

Facilitate No Out-of-Pocket Expense and
Free Cataract Surgery With Medicare Providers

Arrange a commitment of select Medicare approved doctors, surgeons, surgery centers, and hospitals, to agree to accept what Medicare pays as payment in full for cataract surgery (within Medicare restrictions), or provide free cataract surgery if the patient is uninsured, for patients referred through Cataract Free America®.

Inform the Public About Availability of No Out-of-Pocket Expense and
Free Cataract Surgery

Through public relations, advertising, and the Internet, notify seniors who have delayed needed surgery that select healthcare professionals are willing to provide required cataract care with no out-of-pocket expense by waiving Medicare's co-payment (within Medicare restrictions), or provide free cataract surgery if the patient is uninsured, for patients referred through Cataract Free America®.
